When the going gets tough it is EASIER to give up... DON'T!! It may look easier but your problems never really go away when you give up...they usually get worse. I can give you many examples and tell you about all the times I have given up and then chosen to live in denial only to find that my BIG problem only grew bigger. This is true about housework, finances, and homework just as much as it is about being a healthy weight. All things in life require work and effort. If you want to succeed you have to put in the work. Most often your success at something is directly related to the amount of work you put into it.
Today I create a before and after collage for my weightloss journey thus far...I'm almost halfway to my goal. IT FEELS SO GOOD!! So please go check out my newest transformation photos

Happy Valentines DAY!!
I made my Hubby a healthy version of his favorite Chinese dish tonight...Can I get a HELL YEAH for
BAKED GENERAL TAO'S CHICKEN!! It was AMAZING!! I found the recipe online and adapted it to be gluten free and sugar free. It was actually one of the easier recipes I have tried in a while. I will be putting it up here under the recipe tab. I hope you guys try it.... I served it over brown rice with a side of steamed snow peas. It looked and smelled just like it came from a restaurant. This recipe will definitely be a repeater!
In other news the P90X is going well. Day two today. I also went swimming at the Y the last two days with the baby. I'll share a secret with you...if you want your kids to sleep really well take them to the pool. We only stayed in for 20-30 minutes and my daughter has been sleeping 12 hrs a night!! AMAZING!! (She's 10 months old) It works just as well for my 5 year old...he didn't even stay awake for the ride home!

So I have joined a P90X accountability group that begins today (since it is technically after midnight). This is big for me in a lot of ways. I have not worked out since being sick so I am ready to get started and BRING IT...while checking in with a small group of people that are doing the same thing (there is a total of 5 of us in the group) I will be posting and updating you all on what and how things are going. My hope is that this will keep me focused. I have very specific goals in mind that I will share in detail this week.
I am feeling better since being discharged from the hospital on Thursday evening and have taken the time since then to be with my children and husband that I missed SO MUCH while in the hospital. This is the first unplanned weekend home with my husband EVER. Since we so rarely get time for just the two of us we always plan a trip on our weekends together. This time we just spent it together with the children and friends...it was LOVELY.
Talk to you all soon.

Sorry that I've been absent for nearly a week. I am currently hospitalized with pancreatitis and focusing my energy on recovering so I can return home to my husband and babies who I am missing like crazy. There have been some questions on my facebook page about whether or not my diet changes have led to my present illness. My illness is related to bile being backed up in my bile duct of my liver and causing inflammation in my pancreas...which is pancreatitis in a nutshell. I have been unable to eat until today and was started on clear liquids tonight. I will be progressing to full liquids, soft diet and then sent home on a low fat diet. The goal is to rest my gut as much as possible and to prevent further irritation to my pancreas. I should be back to new by this weekend or next week. Hopefully I will be out of the hospital by Friday at the latest.
**To those of you still working everyday on their weight loss keep plugging away because those changes you are making will pay of in the end. Updates to come soon.

I can't believe that I am almost at the 20# mark...just one more pound to go. This is a big milestone for me. This is what I weighed before my second pregnancy started. I still have another 31#'s total until I am at my healthy BMI but I feel amazing and I am so proud of myself for sticking with the plan. At this rate I should be reaching my goal around my 31st birthday!! YAY!! My plan is to wear a beautiful dress out to a Broadway play and dinner with my husband in NYC <3

After one week of P90X I gained 2 pounds...trying really hard to stay on track but I want to see the scale go down. I've been eating really healthy and I haven't been cheating at all...that is why it is so frustrating. I know that I have talked about not getting scale obsessed in the past but I think it is also important to be honest. EVERYONE struggles...you just have to keep plugging away at it! One day at a time...one workout at a time. JUST KEEP GOING...because one day it will be worth it!!

Sooo how did I get to where I was before I starting getting fit?
I BLAME it on the SWEATPANTS...and their comfy elastic band. They look so innocent sitting there in my drawer... if only I had known what was in store. You see those sweatpants let me live in ignorance as they stretched to meet my ever expanding girth. Oh, I had them in every color and style and I reached for them as I fell further into denial. They led to other stretchy clothes...like my favorite cargo shorts, loose cotton dress...even my hubby's gym shorts...gasp :O! Then one day...
So what brought me back to reality? Well one day I had been invited out to dinner and my jeans which were loose at the beginning of my maternity leave were now too tight to button. This made me very sad and required that I buy a new pair of jeans... then I saw some photographs of myself and I could no longer live in this reality where I could blame my weight gain and bad choices on my sweatpants. I still have sweatpants but I where them to workout and shovel the driveway or wear them to bed on a really cold night (Much to my husbands distaste!) I think that it is important to get up and get dressed in normal clothes every day.. your regular clothes can be a reality check for you. So instead of gaining 25#'s before you notice..you may only gain 5#'s. Life is life and your weight can flucuate from season to season. I'm not saying that it is good to check your scale every day but find a way to check in with yourself so once you lose all that weight you don't wake up one day wondering how you gained it all back.

I'm so sore!! But can I just tell you how GOOD I feel about myself :D!!
I did P90X pylometrics workout today with Ben (Day #2 P90X) and then did TurboFire HIIT 15 with my BFF Casey. While I was doing it I was pretty sure I was going to die...but I kept going and pushing myself. Before I knew it we were done...and I FELT Beautiful, Invincible, and just plain AMAZING! So I take Motrin for the sore muscles and I live off the joy that working out brings me.
I NEVER regret it when I work out, but I always regret when I don't!

I had such a great day today!!
We met with my son's teacher and found out that he is doing very well in school!! (One of the reasons that I stay at home during the week is to focus on the kids learning and development) AWESOME!! FYI I say awesome a lot because I am from the northeast...I also say wicked ;).
My good friend Marilen came over to my house and did TurboFire with me!!!! We decided to do the Fire 30 class which I hadn't done in a while. When my friends come over I usually take the spot closest to the TV so they don't feel self concious about me staring at them the entire time. I felt very happy with how I did during the workout because I was able to complete the entire workout, follow 90% of the moves and keep good form. Marilen liked it so much that she is coming over tomorrow to do it again. I say the more the merrier. My other friend Casey is also coming over tomorrow...later in the afternoon though. I can't wait. This is great for them but it is also great for me...it helps to keep me motivated and on track. Chalene Johnson (TurboFire creator) says to surround yourself with people who want fitness in their lives. If they are new to fitness then invite them. I am taking that to heart and asking anyone and everyone to come over and workout with me. My house is a judgement free zone!
P90X...so today was the OFFICIAL day one of P90X with my husband. Since I had just done TurboFire with Marilen I didn't need the warm up so I jumped in on Chest, Back and Ab Ripper X. We had tried Chest and Back last week and did pretty well. We have a lot of room to improve which is good. My goal is to lose weight and tone my body of course but I REALLY,REALLY want to be able to do a PULL UP!! I have never in my entire life been able to do one. When I am done with P90X that will no longer be the case! So on to AB Ripper X... I couldn't do 3/4 of that 16 minute AB workout...how pathetic!! Ben couldn't do much either. We kept routing eachother on though and did modified versions of most of the exercises.
Working again on making sure that I get my water intake for the day. This weekend I went a little wild and had diet soda. No big deal but one leads to two, leads to 5 for me. Then before I know it that is all I'm drinking and I feel like garbage. I know my weakness so I really have to just say no to soda...even if it is diet!
So I guess that is it for today... It was a big day. Tomorrow is day two of P90X with a little TurboFire on the side.

So here is a report of all the good things happening in my life related to my lifestyle changes.
-My jeans are fitting really loosely...every pair except one (which didn't fit before) now require a belt.
-My husband has noticed a big change in my body and loves it!
-Met with the orthopedic surgeon this morning and got some awesome news. NO SURGERY!! YAY!! I have had no pain, swelling or dislocation of my left knee since I began losing the weight. What is crazy is that he was so impressed about my increased in activity level he said I don't need to go back to him unless something happens to require the surgery!!
-I've gotten a few friends to workout with me which is awesome and one of them loved TurboFire and decided to take on the challenge herself. (WOOT!WOOT!) One of my bigger picture goals is to inspire others to put health and fitness first! I have also had my son ask if he could workout with me. I'm glad that I am setting a good example for him.
-Things are really shaping up for me this year...I am happier than I have been in a long time. I usually get seasonally depressed and as of right this moment I feel as if the lack of sunshine is not a problem at all.
So what is next on the agenda? The eating part of the healthy lifestyle has had a few bumps in the road. I'm focusing on really sitting down and planning meals for the family. This will help with the grocery shopping and using food before it expires. I will share of recipes here too. Keep an eye out!!
